Mideast Nonviolent Communication 9 Day Residential Training for Palestinians and Israelis near the Dead Sea.

Approximately 60 people, Israelis, Palestinians and internationals, will live and learn together for 9 days at EcoME Center near the Dead Sea, a home and studio for young peacemakers from this region.

The training will be from December 29, 2011 - January 7, 2012 in an area accessible without permits to Israelis and Palestinians. Together we will dialogue, learn and practice the consciousness and skills of Nonviolent (Compassionate) Communication.

Nonviolent Communication is a process of communication developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D, a psychologist and international peacemaker. This work is being practiced in 45 countries with parents, children, couples, in schools, workplaces, businesses, hospitals, organizations, communities, government bodies, agencies, and with warring groups and countries.

This training will be facilitated by at least 5 International Trainers  of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), all with a passion for peacebuilding and deepening the culture of nonviolence and a  connection to the Mideast with a combined 60 years experience in  learning, teaching and living NVC.

Based on our collective experience in offering training and workshops, we have witnessed the quality of connection shift dramatically when people learn and practice these skills; new understanding emerges which releases creativity and participation in finding new solutions..

We are looking for people to support us in several ways.Apply to join us at the training! We have 10 spaces for people from outside the Mideast. To participate at this level, we request a minimum contribution of $1,000  which includes 9 days of NVC training, all meals and basic accommodations on site at EcoME. Hotel accommodations for an additional fee are available nearby.

If you would like to support our efforts from afar and contribute to planting these seeds of compassion and effective nonviolent peacemaking, the following is what we ask for: We would like to raise $40,000 to cover the following expenses:

Retreat center, Eco ME for 60 people for 9 days; basic lodging, food  and workshop space - $10,000

The cost for qualified translators the entire training will be in three languages- Arabic, Hebrew and English - $3000

Support to continue this training beyond the 9 days -- $10,000

Support for 5 NVC trainers; four of whom will be flying in from abroad  - $17,000

1 round trip ticket from Phoenix to Tel-Aviv
